Lilya Kaisheva
Embroidery
Lilya Kaisheva was born in 1972 and now lives in Simferopol, Crimea.
The master creates stylish ritual and household items (elements of wedding clothes, cases for the Quran, head covers, fezzes, towels, glasses cases, etc.), decorating them with traditional Crimean Tatar embroidery in different techniques.
Lilya learned the technique of Mihlam embroidery (goldwork) from the main promoter of this type of embroidery Zarema Mustafayeva, as well from her Kaisheva adopted the techniques of bukme (cord embroidery) and kasnak (tambour embroidery). Later she improved her knowledge and learned the techniques of Tatar ishleme, esab and telly from the famous Crimean Tatar embroiderer Elvira Osmanova.
The master is a member of the creative association “Chatyr-Dag”
