Alime Husenova

Embroidery

Alime Husenova was born in 1981 and now lives in Teplivka, Simferopol Raion, Crimea.

The master works in different embroidery techniques, in particular in the technique of mihlam (goldwork), which she studied under the guidance of the famous embroiderer Zarema Mustafayeva. She also works in the traditional Crimean Tatar techniques of Tatar ishleme and telly, which she learned from well-known Elvira Osmanova. Alime independently mastered such types of traditional Crimean Tatar embroidery as bukme (cord embroidery), ndzhili ish (pearl embroidery), kasnak (tambour embroidery), as well as the technique of making puskul (tassels on a fez).
